THESSALONIKI WINTER WONDERLAND: 2019 SNOWFALL
At the beginning of 2019, just two years after the snowfall of January 2017, Thessaloniki was once again covered in a layer of snow. And this time it was not just on one, but on three different occasions. The first snowfall, and the heaviest one, occurred on the 4th and the 5th day of January, the second one, on January 9 and the third one, on February 23.
Despite the problems that the snow caused again to the city, which is still not used to it, these snowfalls also gave joy to its people and for one more time, they created unique conditions for capturing unique images. During those days, besides the waterfront, we visited the neighborhoods of Ladadika and Upper Town, the port, and some of the centuries-old Byzantine monuments of the city.
